A powerful desktop computer with a built-in display
Minisforum has unveiled its latest Intel-powered mini PC called the AtomMan X7 Ti. On their official website, they indicated May 20 as the start of sales.
Powered by Intel's Core Ultra 9 185H processor, AtomMan X7 is very powerful thanks to 16 cores and 22 threads with a maximum frequency of 5.1 GHz. Out of the 16 cores, 6 are powerful based on the Redwood architecture and 10 efficient cores are based on the Crestmont architecture. The performance of this processor will vary greatly depending on the thermal management of the system, which Minisforum solved with a cooling fan combined with triple copper heat pipes. Whether the cooling will be able to keep up with the produced heat, we will see at the release.
In terms of graphics, the X7 Ti relies exclusively on the integrated Arc Iris Xe graphics card with 8 Xe cores, but also has support for ray tracing technology thanks to 8 RayTracing cores. While that's commendable for an integrated graphics card, its RTX 2050-like performance for laptops might not meet the expectations of gaming enthusiasts, even though the product isn't even aimed at them in the first place.
However, there is an OCulink connector for connecting an external graphics card, which is not a cheap solution.
Memory and storage options include two DDR5 5600 MT/s (SODIMM) slots that support up to 96GB of memory, and two M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 slots that allow for up to 4 terabytes of memory. Connections are plentiful, including two Ethernet 5G RJ45 ports, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.0 for connecting up to four external 4K displays, 3x USB 3.2 Type-A, 1x SD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is also a built-in camera (1080p) with support for Windows Hello.
In terms of wireless connectivity options, the X7 Ti features Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The device also has a 4-inch touchscreen on the body that offers features like system monitoring and custom themes, adding to its overall appeal.
