A powerful pocket computer at a very affordable price
The Tianbao (or AOOSTAR) GEM12 Pro Mini PC debuted in China with a rather interesting design. It comes with a built-in display that can display a wide range of information including CPU, GPU and RAM temperature and speed. The display even allows users to place a custom album photo with a clock on top.
Right next to the built-in screen, the GEM12 Pro mini PC has a fingerprint scanner. It offers fast and secure unlocking with Windows Hello fingerprint. But the design and external elements are not the only highlights of this small gaming PC. AOOSTAR has also packed powerful internals inside.
Specifically, the GEM12 Pro comes with the latest Ryzen 7 8845HS APU. It is a processor from the AMD Hawk Point series, which has 8 cores and 16 threads. This processor is paired with up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of NVMe storage. All this with the Radeon 780M integrated card makes the mini PC capable of offering a respectable frame rate (fps) in most of today's games.
AOOSTAR also offers GEM12 Pro with Ryzen 7 7840HS and Ryzen 9 6900HX. There are options with the same processors without a built-in screen and fingerprint scanner.
AOOSTAR GEM12 Pro features an OCuLink port that makes it easy to connect a gaming mini PC to an external graphics station and run it with a desktop-class GPU. There is also a large number of connectivity ports, including USB4, USB 3.2 Gen 2, DPI 1.4 and HDMI 2.1.
As for the cooling setup, AOOSTAR has integrated what the company calls a “Glacier 3.0” cooling system. With a large vapor chamber, it allows the mini computer to deliver 75 W of performance.
The barebone version of the gaming mini PC with Ryzen 7 8845HS currently has a pre-sale price of around €400, and the barebone Ryzen 7 7840HS around €350. Global availability hasn't been announced yet, but the company also ships most of its products outside of China.
