Samsung has made in-house repairs possible for TVs
In the past, many manufacturers of smartphones and other electronic devices made it difficult to repair devices in-house. Repairs in licensed service centers are usually not very cheap. Large amounts of glue, non-standard screws and the complex internal structure of the device often made it difficult to replace batteries, screens or other parts of the device. However, if the user changed them, various error messages could appear on the screen, and certain functions simply stopped working.
At the end of 2022, there was an incredible turn of events. Namely, Apple made a statement announcing the launch of a self-service repair program. Right after that, the competitor company Samsung decided to make the same move. This has recently enabled self-directed repairs in Europe as well. This program allows customers who feel they can do it to rent all the necessary tools and purchase original replacement parts to perform a DIY repair at home.
The Samsung Self Repair service was initially limited to the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 family smartphones and the Galaxy Book Pro 15.6 and Galaxy Book Pro 360 15.6 computers. Recently, however, Samsung has announced that it has included a wide range of other consumer electronics devices in its in-house repair program. Among them we find screens from 2023, speaker systems, TVs and even a Freestyle Gen 2 projector. In addition, we also find smartphones from the M family.
In other words, this means that by purchasing consumer electronics devices from Samsung, we will have the opportunity to repair the devices in-house, and original spare parts can be purchased at affordable prices. Of course, repair instructions will also be available. As a result, the repair costs will be much lower than with authorized repairers.
