Weatherian is a weather forecasting app. Its main advantage is that you need to quickly look and gather all the information you need for a day. Everything happens on a single screen with minimal clicking and scrolling. It operates in about half a dozen countries and pulls weather data from multiple sources. We don't think Weatherian will make too much of a dent in the popularity of the big players in this space, but it's definitely a useful app for people who don't want to spend extra time scrolling through a major weather app.

LotR: Heroes of Middle-earth

Price: Free of charge

LotR: Heroes of Middle-earth is the new Lord of the Rings game on the market. It's a gacha game, so you'll spend a good portion of your time collecting characters from movies and books. After building a team, you can choose to progress through the story or compete against people in PvP. The combat is turn-based and not complicated, so you should be able to master it fairly quickly. The only real gripe I have with the developer is that the game progresses quite slowly after a while, with a lot of effort required to complete some things. This happens especially with Western gachas, but we wish it would happen less often.

Imprint

Price: Free trial / $15.99 per month / $99.99 per year

Imprint is an educational app that offers courses and information about modern things. It teaches users using proven lessons so you can digest the content over the course of a day instead of sitting in front of your phone or computer for hours. The course library is slightly different from a traditional educational app and includes topics such as NFTs, blockchains and some more typical fields such as philosophy and history. The price of the Imprint app is a bit higher, but similar apps have courses that can cost $100 or more, so we think the overall cost comes down over time. The question is whether the user mode of the application is effective for you or not. In the end, it all depends on the type of learning you want to do. There is a free trial available to check, which we recommend you use before signing up for expensive subscriptions.

Sid Meier's Railroads

Price: $12.99

Sid Meier's Railroads is a game for all train lovers with at least a little business acumen. Build your train business by building railways and stations, delivering goods, earning money and using it to upgrade your business. There are 16 levels to complete, along with a “Train Table” mode where you can do practically anything you want. Between scenarios and free-to-play, there's plenty of content here to play as well. Sid Meier's Railroads is a bit pricey, but it's just as good, if not better in some ways, than the PC version.

Artifact

Price: Free of charge

Artifact is a news gathering app. You open the app, select the topics you're interested in, and then Artifact populates your news feed with articles about that thing. The app has the same advantages and pitfalls as other similar apps. Artifact relies on established media names for its news, and the topics of personalization are fairly obscure. However, this one is good in that it integrates any paid subscriptions you may have on many popular sites. It's generally okay to use, but it doesn't provide much more than Google Discover does on many Android phones.
