However, Netflix introduced a ban on account sharing
Months ago, Netflix introduced a simple, new and "official" way to share your subscription with friends or acquaintances. Their method should not include the classic sharing of passwords or computer screens. Netflix established this mode with the intention of taking control of user accounts and thus preventing the free sharing of subscriptions outside the household. Since the first attempt did not succeed, the streaming video provider announced a fierce fight against the exchange of passwords between users some time ago.
New password sharing rules have recently come into effect in many countries around the world. This means that disobedient users will be hit with a "fine". If they want to share the password, they will have to pay an additional 4.99 euros per month for each additional user. An additional user is an entity that does not live in the same household as the other users of the Netflix user account.
Although the new rules have barely gone into effect, Netflix has indicated from the start that they will be strict and precise. Namely, the guide for household registration has started to be shown to users. The user is forced to confirm that the location where he opened Netflix is actually his household. With this, the user confirms or registers the home network, which will become his permanent location from then on. After registration, the new rules for the use of the Netflix account will immediately come into force.
