Here are 3 games and one app to keep you up-to-date on Android software development.
4 Android Apps You Shouldn't Miss This Week (Part 100)

Potion Permit

Price: $6.99

More and more often we come across new Android games that are just copies of independent console and computer games from a few years ago. These games are often slightly cheaper than the original releases and have special tweaks to work better on the phone. Potion Permit continues this familiar trend, bringing an open-ended simulation RPG to Android for about half the price of the Steam version. The goal of the game is to become the best chemist around, cook elixirs, cure diseases and more.

If you're looking for mobile games with a bit more content depth, Potion Permit is worth checking out. In addition, it is free of major bugs and has decent mobile management.

Wychwood

Price: $4.99

Wytchwood is another premium game with a gothic and fairy tale background. In the game, you play as a mysterious forest witch and explore the mysterious landscape, collect magical ingredients and prepare spells. Best of all, you can also pronounce judgments on the various fairy-tale characters that cross your path. With a great story and plenty of challenges, this is a game that feels just as stable and enjoyable as the one you can find on the Steam platform of the same name.

The trend of high-quality Android games that started in 2023 and hopefully will continue in 2024 has surely impressed many mobile game lovers. Despite all that, Wytchwood crashed twice during Android Authority's testing, but after a reset the game seemed to play nicely.

Devil Slayer

Price: Free with in-app purchases

Looking at the name of the game and just the shape of the female character on the front, it looks like a cheap knockoff of a Demon Slayer game, don't you agree? It's a typical demon-devil-themed RPG reminiscent of one of the more famous anime cartoons, but has very little to offer. On the plus side, it has good graphics and could be a decent time-wasting game, just be aware that it's just another flash IDLE game. Regardless, at least it feels pretty bug-free and has a fun aesthetic that's different from many other "idle RPGs" you've probably played.

Google Gemini

Price: Free with in-app purchases

Google Gemini is a brand new Google AI experience in the form of an app. It's basically a replacement for Assistant, and we have to admit that it works much better in some ways. Not only is Gemini smarter, it's also more responsive. That said, this is still an early version and probably won't be as stable as the original Google Assistant. Since you need to uninstall the Assistant to install Gemini, we recommend doing so with some caution, at least until the app is available for a bit longer. If you have a spare device or simply don't use Assistant enough to worry about its absence, it's still a unique experience worth checking out and has a lot of potential.
